Modern Chic Garden Wedding Inspiration at The Lux Art Institute

Chic, modern, and creative-process focused, the Lux Art Institute inspired our modern romance with its clean lines, exposed architecture, and sleek-geometric feel. The Lux offers sturdy metals and industrial concrete lines paired with exposed and sun-filled gardens in outdoor spaces between exhibit buildings that spring with wild desert flowers and gracefully muted Southern California greenery. Our color palette couples dusty rose and pale pinks with slate and shale grays, accented with warm metals and cooled with sage and jade greenery. The florals join starry white, blush cream, and flirty pink roses with bold and delicate magenta ranunculus, airy baby’s breath, and plenty of lush ferns and wild greenery. The ceremony space offered an open-air exhibit hall, a clean and unadorned space filled with warm breezes and soft glow. The ceremony arch was made of copper piping and hung with a clean and elegant macrame and yarn fall design that framed the couple beneath a romantic fern and fresh floral spray and surrounded the bride with blooms. Small buds and greens on the brushed gunmetal ceremony chairs brought a touch of color to the aisle as well.

For our reception tablescape, we paired simplicity with glamour: ornate opulence in gold and copper lines and geometric patterns with hushed tones and romantic elegance in crystal glasses and blush-tone napkins held loosely by candlelight-catching geode napkin rings. The dark wood table and brushed gunmetal chairs lent simplicity and stripped modernity to the glowing tablescape.

Our models, a real couple and very much in love, bring their sense of glamour and playfulness to the elegance of the scene, sneaking kisses between shots and laughing lightly into the golden-hour air around the museum. Think of Don Draper meeting his elegant California beauty on a walk through the canyon trails after a posh gallery opening. Gold geometric shapes adorn a mirrory moon-like table in the outdoor lounge where the couple sips from ornate glass goblets. Seated on plush love-seats, they enjoy a romantic moment together in the garden to take it all in before enjoying a newlywed stroll through the magic-hour light to wrap up the affair. Overall the shoot aims to bring together a fresh pairing of modern industrial with French parlour luxury to create a smart, chic, romantic wedding inspiration with a touch of wild, industrial, and plenty of pretty.
