Since shooting weddings for the past 6 years, I have never stopped to really introduce myself on here. So, let me introduce you to the girl behind the lens capturing love stories, family moments and all things creative. I am Jessica (preferably known as Jessie) Jaccarino with Jessica Jaccarino Photography. Born and raised as an East Coast girl who recently landed in Southern California. I start most days with an almond milk latte and a good sweat at either Rush Cycle or Orange Theory. I married my best friend, Ben, and we had an adorable little boy, Jake who is turning 2 in October. We have two pups, Ava and Lola, and I love every moment of the beautiful chaos of being a dog mom, a human mom, a wife, a friend and a wedding & lifestyle photographer!
I started my career as a pet photographer in NYC capturing the posh moments of the privileged upper west side pups and dabbling in some commercial work, while always giving back to the less privileged pups looking for forever homes in the adoption centers.
I shot my first wedding in 2011 as a second shooter for a photog friend. I was in awe that day of wedding photography and everything it stood for; the fast pace, the adrenaline, the details, the creativity, the real emotion and finally the story that was told. From that moment on I knew my time with the NYC pups was over unless they were walking their humans down the aisle.
After shooting weddings for 6 years on the East Coast, my family and I decided we wanted to join the rest of our clan on the West Coast in sunny San Diego. Both my sister and sister-in-law had brought boys into this world the same year Jake was born and we were dying to have them finally together.
Moving across the country was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make as a business owner who relies on a wedding network, a friend network, Google searching, press and word of mouth for work. After spending the first year going back and forth from both sides of the country, I have decided it’s time to turn down the work on the East Coast and immerse myself fully into the Southern California wedding market. I’m so excited for 2018 and the lovely couples who have booked me to document their special day! I look forward to more collaborative work with the ridiculously talented SoCal wedding pros and to finding peace in the sense that I have changed markets but I’m still the same girl behind the lens, staying true to who I am as a photographer and a business owner.
I am motivated by:
Really beautiful bouquets & Jaw dropping tablescapes
Personal touches & Elegant details
A warm smile & Passionate people
The unknown & The want to succeed
Design & Creativity
A beautiful love story
If I am your wedding photographer:
I’m your “go to” person
I get your questions answered, I recommend vendors, I’m your timeline guru
I bustle your dress, pin the boutonnière and hold your flowers
I will capture you in the most beautiful light and freeze moments and memories in time for you to always look back on
I’m your partner and your friend
I hope this preview into my life gives you a better idea of who I am and where I have come from. Thank you again for your support. I have loved getting to know so many of the talented wedding pros out here as well as making lots of new San Diegan friends. The transition no doubt has been a challenge but one I’m happy to call home.
