Hannah and Patrick were married at The Hitching Post, a beautiful barn set in the countryside of Dayton, Maine.  She wanted a romantic wedding in Maine where Patrick proposed with all of their closest friends and family.

Being an incredibly creative person, Hannah designed their wedding logo which involved 2 bunnies, after they discovered that their new joint initials spelled HOP. In addition to her creative side, Hannah used her DIY skills to craft many of the beautiful details of the wedding from the paper goods to the paper flowers at each place setting. Hannah included details that were meaningful to her, including wearing her Grandmother’s engagement ring. While Hannah and Patrick live in D.C., they grew up in Maine so it was very important to them to have a beautiful Maine wedding. The Hitching Post Barn is one of the most elegant barns I’ve photographed to date, with the romantic drapery, beautiful barn doors and enough windows to let in a soft ambient glow. 

Despite rain in the forecast, the weather behaved and the property was transformed into a timeless, warm, inviting space for guests. The ceremony was held outdoors in a quaint pasture with wooden benches for the guest to sit. The aisle runner was made by Handmade Letters with ongoing script highlighting all the things Hannah and Patrick love about each other.  Hannah and her bridesmaids carried the most gorgeous blooms by LuLu & Co Events. Dinner and dancing followed in the barn under the stunning chandlers. 

Hannah and Patrick are the definition of “getting to marry your best friend.” They encourage each other, challenge each other and bring a fun and energetic attitude to any gathering. It was stated more than once that they bring out the best version of each other. 

I had such a smile the entire day, just watching these two soak in every moment of their celebration!  Thank you for allowing me to document your wedding, Hannah and Patrick!  I’m so thankful to have gotten the chance to meet you both and capture the memories from one of the most important days of your life.
