Modern Pastels for a Dreamy Sand Dune Elopement

Romantic, adventurous and dripping with elegant and fresh pastels, the Glamis Sand Dunes inspired our modern boho romance with its enchanting and breath taking views located in Brawley, CA. Beautiful peaks coupled with a splash of color, allowed for soft texture and a fresh feel for a sweet elopement in what felt like the middle of nowhere.

Our color palette couples bright pinks and greens paired with pale peach and cheerful whites. The soft pinks and the neutral pompas grass allowed for texture and movement. Accented with gold, and warmed with lightwoods and hints of seagrass.

The flowers where inspired with a modern / boho essence and bright pops of color to stand out against the pastel and neutral sand dunes. With a focus on the structure of the florals themselves, we concentrated on a simple and modern feel built with pops of texture and a soft and bright spray. Springtime bringing an array of colors we wanted to incorporate some of the bright fuchsia ranunculus, blush butterfly ranunculus, sweet peas and finishing with taupe carnations and spirea. For additional texture we wanted to explore a fairly new wedding trend and use dried pampas grass, troll hair, dyed and dried Italian ruscus and dried bleached bunny tail.

The ceremony space offered a natural minimalist design with an 8×8 white washed wood arch decorated with wooden troughs filled with delicate flowers and greenery.  We visualized the background of the rolling peaks to be the focal point but for a dose of creativity we dropped the troughs to compliment the pompass grass and pops of pink. A clean and unadorned space filled with fresh pastels and a minimal glow.

Our picnic-style simplistic tablescape offered hints of blush pastels, pops of fuchsia pinks, a touch of greenery and soft whips held in bright white bud vases with gold accents. Romantic elegance introduced dusty pink plates, which sat on wooden chargers. Neutral napkins were placed with a touch of pink sweet pea and finished along side of modern, white and gold flatware. Milk glass goblets were used to tie in the fresh and bright tones of the over all table letting the subtle color and pops of pink emphasize the simplistic yet sophisticated sand dune dining experience.

Our models and real couple bring their sense of glamour and playfulness to the elegance of the scene, laughing lightly white letting the dunes engulf them as they race to the next peak for a breathtaking view. An elegant California couple celebrating their love in a sun drenched escape.

Overall the shoot aims to bring together a fresh pairing of modern / boho romance with an adventurous escape to create an enchanting, stylish, dreamy elopement inspiration with a touch of audacious elegance, a clean splash of color, and plenty of pretty.
